So I just wanted to share this video that I found. I wish I could put into words how much joy fills me when I watch this. What an amazing opportunity these young people have to go all over the world and share their testimonies and knowledge with strangers. I know that the announcement for the new missionary age for both young men and young women is inspired by the Lord and these young people that are going out on missions are preparing the world for the second coming of Jesus Christ. The work of the Lord is continually growing and I only hope that I can do what I can to prepare my children to share their testimonies and further that work. I seriously love this video and it makes me so proud to belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. What an amazing group of young men and women!
James loved getting to know Grandpa and Grandma Wilson over the Christmas break. We all enjoyed our time up in Alaska as you can already see form all the other posts, but our favorite part was the time with the family.
I seriously can't explain to you all how much I love this kid and how sticking cute he his. He is so fun! Here are a few things about James at 15 months.
-He laughs easily. Sometimes when other people are laughing, he'll start laughing which makes everyone else laugh more. James, in turn, thinks its pretty funny that everyone is laughing at him so he'll start fake laughing which make us laugh even more.
-He has the biggest grin especially with his cute teeth.
-James likes to sleep on his belly with his knees tucked up under so his little bum is in the air. This is how we find him almost every night.
-He loves to push stuff around like cars, trucks, our cooler, tupperware, any of his toys, the laundry basket, etc. He also like to get pushed around in just about anything.
-He loves to be involved in anything we are doing. If I am doing the dishes, he'll come and push his way between my legs and the cupboards then push my legs til he gets my attention.
-James loves to throw and he'll throw anything. He likes to throw balls which is fine but the problem is he throws cars, blocks, books, keys, shoes, etc. James also throws very well and has a very good aim and he usually aims at the face or the head.
-James loves to be outside even if it is freezing.
-He runs everywhere instead of walk.
-He loves food and loves to feed himself. Sometimes he really gets mad at me when I try to help him.
-James is very curious and loves to explore new things.
-He gives the best hugs and kisses and will blow kisses.
-James has also started to say a few words. Ca = Car, Cuck = Truck, Daddy, and no (his favorite). We're also pretty sure he says other things like "Oh baby!" and other things that aren't quite clear yet.
Since James loves to be involved I try take advantage of it. Here he is helping me put away his diapers. He did this for probably 15-20 minutes. Love this kid!
Ok so it didn't actually snow on Christmas but it did snow a couple days after. Christmas was very relaxing. We got up, had breakfast, read the Christmas story, and opened presents. The rest of the day spent talking with family and relaxing.
He really loved opening presents at first.
One of his favorite presents.
He'll be daddy's helper in no time.
Yes all books are for James.
Two days after Christmas it snowed a lot! James had so much fun playing in the snow, that is until he got it in his face and then he wasn't too happy. Gregg pulled him on the sled which James really liked. He even got up on all fours at one point only then to realize that he wasn't as stable and fall back down to his belly. Everyone went to the elementary school to go sledding. Gregg took James down the hill. I was too chicken. I only went down the kiddy slide at the playground.
So this was my very first year of having a real tree for Christmas. It was quite fun looking for a tree and helping chop it down. James even helped.
One of my favorite things to do while in Alaska is go to the beach; the black sand, covered with rocks, boulders, and huge logs, barnacle beach. It is the prettiest, most serene place on earth. Lucky for me its right across the street from the house. Gregg and I took James down to the beach. He loved it. Actually that is complete lie. He loved the beach so much that he screamed the whole time we were walking back the house. Every time we would go outside, James would point at the water and grunt. So cute.
The day before we headed up to Alaska, our family hung out with the Johansens. It was a lot of fun which included going to Schells, Ikea, and Temple Square. James and Katie really love playing together and I think they feed off each others energy which makes for two very energetic kids. Laura also made us a wonderful turkey dinner (Thanks to Jared's work for the Christmas bonus.).
Sorry its blurry
James tried really hard to climb into the water. He was successful with getting a hand in.
