Valentine's Day

This Valentine's day turned out to be perfect.  The weather was so nice so we spent almost all of the afternoon outside with the kids blowing bubbles, jumping on the tramp and playing the sand pit.  That evening Gregg and I went out for a nice dinner and dessert as well as some shopping.  It really was such a nice day.

That morning I had a hair appointment. When I came I found my boys had turned into Dragon Riders.  James' all time favorite movie is How to Train Your Dragon 2.  I guess you can tell who painted Gregg's face.

James insisted on being a dragon rider all day.

And this is how James decided to get the bubbles...with a shovel.

She always has a serious mop top going on.  I try to comb it but it doesn't matter.

Picture Perfect

I wish I could say how much I love this picture.  This captures Libby's personality so well...covered in dirt and screeching at the top of her lungs in protest of something she doesn't like.  It makes me laugh.  I love this girl.

We love winter!

My kids love playing outside but especially when there is snow.  James loves shoveling and once we pulled out the sled, we couldn't get Libby to come inside without screaming.  It was so fun to drag them around on the sled.  They couldn't stop laughing and squealing.  Needless to say I've become a much fan of winter and snow than I was before.

Holiday Recap 2014

Thanksgiving
We spent Thanksgiving down in Blanding.  With most of my siblings there with their kids there plus a straggler from the Wilson bunch all camped out at my parents, it made for a pretty insane Thanksgiving.  My mom did a fabulous job organizing so it wasn't too overwhelming.  James and Libby had a BLAST with all their cousins.  Since then James has been calling most little boys Grant.  It fun to see them old enough to finally play together.

Haha this picture is so funny!

No Shave November.  Scott was growing for months, Jared only a week, and Gregg for a month.

Minute to Win it!

One morning all the kids headed to the football field to release some energy.  They all had a blast

Cutest girl!

I had to post this.  The Foo-Man stache was pretty epic!

More Minute to Win It.

December
I was way more excited about Christmas this year than in past all because of James.  He had so much fun doing lots of Christmasy activities all month.  It was really fun to see him learn more about the true meaning of Christmas and to understand more than I thought he could.  With the Wilsons going to Philly for Christmas, we headed down to Blanding.  It was a much quieter vacation to say the least.  James was excited for Santa but not excited enough to get up before the sun to open presents.  James and Libby really had fun at first opening all the presents but soon lost interest (Libby much sooner than James).  They just wanted to play with the presents they already had.  We spent the rest of the day relaxing and playing games.  It was so much to have Drew and Paige come down and to see John David and Di and their kids.  We had so much fun playing games, hanging out, and eating way too much food.

Clearly one kid loves Santa....

and one does not.

Blurry but so pretty.

Christmas morning!

This girl loves her Goldfish.

He loves his Thomas!

And shaving with Daddy.

Playing the piano at grandma's.

He had fun, I promise.

Visiting the temple with cousins.

First Snow

Fall is slowly turning to winter.  I don't know if I'm a big fan but James loves it.  The first that it snowed he was so excited.  I mean like Christmas morning kind of excited.  There were barely ten flakes in the air and he was begging (almost in tears begging) me to go outside and play in the snow.  I had to go dig up all the snow gear so eventually we made it outside when the snow was actually sticking to the ground.  Libby didn't really know what to do with herself. I bundled her up pretty good so I don't think she could move all that well.  James built a snowman (I built a snowman.).  We threw snowballs at each other and at the fence.  We shoveled snow and made tracks.  It really was a ton of fun.  James was on cloud 9 until we had to come inside.  He loves, really loves cold and snow and seems to be impervious to the effects of being cold (Side note:  He hates pretty much anything hot.  He refuses to wash his hands in warm water because he says its hot.  He refuses to eat any food that is warm for the same reason.  And if the bath water is at all warm, he won't sit down til the water has cooled off.  Weird kid.).  Needless to say he loves cold.  Hopefully it snows more for James' sake.

Happy Birthday Libby!!

I know that pretty much every parent always talks about how fast their kids grow up, but its true and I really not a fan.  Libby seems to have gone from a little baby to a full fledged toddler in the blink of an eye.
-Libby is such a fun little girl.  She laughs and grins so easily.

-She is so stubborn.  When she doesn't want to do something (particularly eating) there is nothing    anyone can do about it and if she wants something and doesn't get it you better be prepared for some serious drama.

-Libby loves/has to be involved in EVERYTHING. Getting her to hold still is near impossible.

-If Libby is upset either give her a bath or take her outside and she cheers right up.

-Libby has figured out walking and is so proud of herself.

-Libby loves to read.  She'll get a book, climb on James' bed and gabber to herself as she turns the pages.

-Still not the best eater but has improved dramatically in the last 2 months.

-Libby is a major mommy's girl.

I sure do love this girl even if she has us all under her little thumb.

How cute is this girl?!

Libby was not a fan of her cake.  This is about the extent that she put in her mouth.  The rest she played with or rubbed over herself.

Opening presents.  I think this is the only one James didn't open.

Her favorite present.  Gregg has the same water bottle and she LOVES the thing.

Happy Birthday to my favorite little girl!  I sure love you Libby!

The Pumpkin Patch and Halloween

A week before Halloween we took the kids to a pumpkin patch in Springville. It was a blast!!  There were so many fun activities and we had to do all of them.  We went home that evening with 2 very dirty and sad children because we had to leave.

The Monday before Halloween we craved our pumpkins with the kids.  Gregg and I pretty much did everything.  Libby didn't care to touch the pumpkin insides.  James helped scoop out all the insides but then was content to watch up carve.  Halloween was a blast too.  James really figured out trick or treating and got into it.  Libby didn't really care but she sure looked cute.

They may not be smiling but at least I got them both looking at the camera.
